Campbelltown City strengthen side with Japanese signing

National Premier League South Australia outfit Campbelltown City has bolstered its squad for the 2023 season following the signing of Japanese attacker Shogo Yoshikawa from Lithuanian side, FK Banga Gargždai.

In three seasons with FK Banga since 2020, the 27-year-old scored eight goals and recorded five assists in 74 matches.

Yoshikawa has also previously plied his trade in homeland in the J2 and J3 Leagues with Zweigen Kanazawa and in the Japanese Football League (fourth division) for Vanraure Hachinohe.

The Red Devils opened their campaign with a late 2-1 away win over Sturt Lions and now turns its attention to a Monday night clash against newly-promoted Modbury Jets.

The Round 2 fixture was originally scheduled for Friday night but had to be postponed due to extreme heat.
