The weekend’s action gets underway at Max Haynes Field on Friday night when eighth placed Capalaba host seventh placed Souths United.

The Bulldogs will look to make it back-to-back home wins after their last ditch 3-2 victory over Olympic saw them move level with Souths on six points.

Souths will look to bounce back after going down 2-0 to Peninsula Power in their last outing ahead of a match that could see either side finish the weekend as high as fifth with a win.

It’s first versus last when new league leaders Lions face winless Olympic at Luxury Paints Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The defending Champions regained their spot at the top of the table with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Gold Coast United at Coplicks last weekend and will look to maintain their position with a win over an Olympic side who are coached by former Lions U23 mentor Russell Sommerville.

After suffering defeat at the death in last weekend’s top-of-the-table clash Gold Coast United will look to bounce back with a win against QAS at Coplicks on Saturday afternoon.

QAS currently sit sixth on the league table with six points to their name and also look to return to the winners circle after going down 2-0 to Eastern Suburbs last weekend.

In Saturday’s final match third placed Peninsula Power, who sit just two points shy of the league leaders will look to continue their strong start with a win against ninth placed Sunshine Coast Wanderers at AJ Kelly Park.

In Sunday’s only match fifth placed Mitchelton look to close the gap between themselves and the top four when they host fourth placed Eastern Suburbs at Teralba Park.

Easts come into Sunday’s match with a four point buffer over the Mustangs who drew 1-1 with Sunshine Coast Wanderers in their last outing.
