NPL Queensland Women’s Round 8 action is here with another weekend full of intriguing matches set to take place.
The weekend’s action gets underway on Friday night at Wakerley Park when Souths United play host to Olympic.

Souths start the weekend in fifth, five points adrift of fourth placed Eastern Suburbs who play third placed Peninsula Power this weekend and will see Friday’s match as an opportunity to close in on the sides above them in the finals places.
After moving two points clear at the top of the table last weekend, league leaders Lions take on seventh placed QAS at Luxury Paints Stadium on Saturday night.
QAS come into Saturday’s match off the back of a 1-1 draw against Gold Coast United last weekend - a result that allowed Lions to edge ahead in the title race.
Second placed Gold Coast United look to return to winning ways when they host Mitchelton at Coplicks on Saturday night.
United are winless in two and will aim to bounce back when they face the sixth placed Mustangs who were on the wrong end of a 4-3 thriller against Easts last weekend.
It’s third versus fourth at Heath Park on Sunday when Peninsula Power travel to face Eastern Suburbs.
Newly promoted Power have wasted no time adapting to life in the top-flight, surging into third position with four straight wins with Bonnie Davies and Sara D’Appolonia, who both scored in the sides last outing against Sunshine Coast Wanderers starring for Mick Gallo’s side.
Power’s defence who have conceded just five times so far this season – the least of any side in the competition will have their hands full keeping an Easts attack spearheaded by Sofie Persson at bay.
Sunshine Coast Wanderers host Capalaba in the final match of the weekend in what shapes as an important affair at the opposite end of the ladder.
The two sides sit in eighth and ninth on the league table after seven rounds and know three points at Ballinger Park on Sunday evening could prove crucial in their quests to avoid the drop.
