We are now a month into the NPLW season, there are two promoted sides in the top three, while the defending Champions remain winless, who will surprise the competition in Round 5?
Check out all the upcoming action below.
Box Hill United v FV Emerging
7:30 pm, Friday 14 April, Wembley Park
Can FV Emerging claim its first victory of the season?
FV Emerging claimed its second draw for the season in Round 4 in a high-scoring battle with Bayside.
Alana Cortellino was the young side's best player through the midfield, while Emilie Keppens scored a hat-trick - both earning a spot in this week's Team of the Week (TOTW).
Captain Anika Dovaston led from the front in midfield, scoring Emerging's first goal of the match.
After having a two-goal advantage in the first half, Emerging will be disappointed they were unable to come away with the three points.
Box Hill comes into Round 5 of the NPLW in fifth eighth position - one spot above FV Emerging, after losing to Heidelberg 3-2 last week.
Asuka Doi claimed back-to-back TOTW nominations after another great game, scoring two goals and being a constant threat all match.
Forward Kanna Moriya also had a stand-out game and Emily Mackie tried her heart out in defence.
FV Emerging defeated Box Hill 3-1 the last time they met, however with completely new squads, the match-up is very hard to predict.
South Melbourne v Bayside United
1:00 pm, Saturday 15 April, Lakeside Stadium
Will South Melbourne rebound after its Round 4 loss?
South Melbourne fell to the sixth spot on the ladder last week after giving up an early lead to go down to Bulleen 3-1.
Midfielder Dragana Kljajic was South's best, while Zoe Lambi battled hard all day.
The South (fourth best in NPLW) forward line failed to fire in Round 4 and the likes of Daniele Wise will want to bounce back against Bayside, who have leaked eight goals in the first month of the season.
Bayside drew its first game for the season against Emerging last week after a big second-half comeback.
Olivia Bomford continued her good form, scoring her side's first goal of the game, while forward Julia Budiongo (56th minute) also had her best game of the season.
Midfielder Miwa Sasaki was prolific in Bayside turning around a two-goal deficit, working hard all game, and being central to most attacks.
In Round 16 last season, South Melbourne defeated Bayside 4-2 with B Stringfellow scoring a hat-trick for South, and Julia Budiongo scoring a brace for Bayside.
Calder United v Southern United
3:00 pm, Saturday 15 April, Keilor Park Recreation Reserve
Can either side claim its first three points of the season?
Calder United is still searching for its first win of the campaign after going down in the last two rounds.
The defending Champions had the bye in Round 4 but fell short the week prior to the improved Alamein side.
Young midfielders Montana Mathews and Isabella Sewards have been outstanding so far this season, along with Sienna Cappola.
Forward Keiwa Hidea has provided an option up forward, without getting on the scoresheet and Lucy Richards has been a standout in defence.
Southern United has also had a winless start to the season and will be desperate for its first point of the season.
Last week, Southern put in a better performance, despite going down to Preston 3-0.
For the second week running, Keira Myers put in another great performance, intercepting a lot of key opportunities from Preston and getting involved both defensively and going forward.
Defender Bronwyn Maidment will miss this week's clash after getting two yellow cards in Round 4.
Heidelberg United v Alamein
3:30 pm, Saturday 15 April, Olympic Village
Will Alamein's attack be too much to handle for the Bergers?
Alamein fell to the fourth spot on the ladder last week, after losing to Boroondara by three goals in a top of the ladder clash.
The dangerous trio of Savanna Anastasopoulos , Sidney Allen, and Rebecca Saber were kept goalless in Round 4, and it doesn't get any easier this week, with Heidelberg being the second-best defensive side in the league.
Heidelberg defeated Box Hill 3-2 in Round 4 to jump into the top two for the first time this season.
Patricia Charambous provided the Bergers with plenty of run throughout the game, while Steph Galea scored her fourth goal for the season.
Midfielder Nicole Blackett was Heidelberg's best, earning a spot in this week's TOTW and keeper Melissa Maizels was huge late in the game with numerous crucial saves.
Heidelberg defeated Alamein the last time they met (Round 16, 2022) with Grace Jale scoring the winner.
Boroondara Eagles v Preston Lions
8:00 pm, Saturday 15 April, Veneto Club
Can Preston Lions' defence stop Kurea Okino?
Boroondara skipped a game clear of the competition after defeating Alamein last week.
Kurea Okino proved the difference in the match, scoring a hat-trick to move five goals clear on top of the Golden Boot.
Kristina Hall was the Eagles' best midfielder in the win, while forward Ellen Turner also put in a good performance.
This week's clash will be an intriguing watch with the best attack coming up against the defence in the league.
Preston has only given up one goal all season, while Boroondara is averaging three goals a game, which style of play will prevail?
Preston defeated Southern last week with 2022 top scorer Rachel Stirton registering her first goal of the season.
Miri Nishimura once again was named in the TOTW for a great display in midfield, while goalkeeper Christine Fonua was outstanding all game.
Both teams had highly successful campaigns last season and were the final two teams standing in the 2022 VPLW competition. Preston claimed the title after defeating the Eagles 1-0 in the final with midfielder Hailee Mesitis goal separating the two sides.
