National Premier League South Australia side Adelaide Olympic has secured a major coup ahead of the 2023 season, signing former Danish international and Adelaide United defender Michael Jakobsen.
The 37-year-old recorded 95 appearances in all competitions across four seasons for the Reds between 2018 and 2022, and also captained the club for one year before departing in June last year.
The experienced centre-back was most recently plying his trade in India with NorthEast United.
Jakobsen, who has five caps for Denmark, boasts plenty of pedigree spending the bulk of his career in his homeland for the likes of Aalborg BK, FC Copenhagen and Esbjerg fB.
He also enjoyed a spell in Spain with Almeria, amassing over 50 games for the Rojiblancos across LaLiga and the Segunda Division.
Olympic begin the new season against Croydon Kings this Saturday night at the VALO Football Centre.
